My first oil painting in more than 10 years.

I had so much fun with that one and completey fell in love with oils all over again! I cannot believe I abstained from it due to a lack of drying-space inthe old appartment.

I immediately gessoed several canvasses and wooden boards 😄

Fire Dragon (WIP)

Work in Progress

I always wanted to make the flames more realistic and to add some smoke and the red reflections of the fire on the scales of the dragon...but I think I may never finish, so I might as well upload it now. I made it for my son when we moved half a year ago and he liked it so much he made me hang it on his wall and I was never allowed to finish it. 

 

And now there is such a huge gap in time that I might not even want to finish it

while I am perfectly happy with the idea and concept, I kind off messed up the execution of this one. especially the mouth :-/

Cloud - Inktober Day 19

Something strange happened. I bought a new black pen and when I went around the outlines with an inkwash, the ink of the pen would dilute, run into the paper and create beautiful purple and blue bloom.

While I was really surprised and liked the outcome of the background, I then had a lot of trouble with the outlines and my beloved white gel pen would also just turn purple. So I tried very hard with the highligts and sharp edges, but wasn´t very successful.
